Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus held a solemn ceremony on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the UN Children's Fund

On December 8, 2016 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus held a solemn ceremony of Memorial Cancellation of the post stamp of the Republic of Belarus, which is timed to the 70th anniversary of the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF), as well as the opening of the exhibition on the activities of the organization.



The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Alena Kupchyna, the First Deputy Minister for Communication and Information, Dmitry Shedko, UNICEF Deputy Regional Director for Central and Eastern Europe and the CIS, David Mcloughlin, took part in the event.



A.Kupchyna noted the high level of interaction between Belarus and UNICEF at the national and global levels. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs thanked UNICEF for its contribution to the protection of the child's interests in the country, strengthening of national capacities in this area.

UNICEF Deputy Regional Director praised Belarus' progress in the protection of children's rights, including access to education and health care, the development of care for children who are in vulnerable situations, and expressed confidence that Belarusian experience progressive need to spread in the region and in the world.



D.Maklaflin also thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the unique initiative to release a postage stamp to commemorate the 70th anniversary of UNICEF.
