Consultations between Foreign Ministries of Belarus and Venezuela

On June 5, 2018 Carakas hosted Belarusian-Venezuelan Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs on the level of Deputies Ministers.

The Belarusian delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Evgeny Shestakov, Venezuelan side was led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Cooperation with European Countries, Ivan Gil.

During the consultations, the sides discussed a wide range of issues of development of bilateral relations in political, trade, economic and other spheres. The parties considered the state and prospects for cooperation in international organizations, including within the framework of the UN. The sides also exchanged f views on topical issues on the international agenda.

The Deputy Ministers noted a high level and positive dynamics of the development of the relations between Belarus and Venezuela, their strategic character and a significant potential for building mutually beneficial economic cooperation. Arrangements have been reached to further intensify bilateral cooperation, including in the context of preparations for the next VIII meeting of the Joint Belarus-Venezuela Commission in Carakas.

As a result of the meeting, a Protocol of consultations was signed between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
