Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus V.Rybakov meets Japanese MPs

On July 20, 2016 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, V.Rybakov, met with the Japanese delegation of the Belarus-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group led by the Head of the Group, Genichiro Sata.

During the meeting, the sides discussed current issues of the bilateral relations with a focus on the parliamentary cooperation.

V.Rybakov noted an enhancement of the political dialogue between Belarus and Japan and the development of interaction on the international arena in 2015-2016. The Deputy Minister suggested broadening bilateral cooperation in the framework of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly.

The Belarussian side expressed interest in the development of sustainable long-term contacts with vast Japanese corporations. V.Rybakov underlined that Belarus is a perfect platform to create and develop joint production of high-quality competitive goods based on the Japanese technologies for its further realization both on the capacious markets of the Eurasian Economic Union and the European Union.

The sides positively assessed the results of bilateral cooperation in the elimination of the consequences of the accidents at the Chernobyl nuclear power station and Fukushima-1 nuclear power station.

The Japanese side expressed its gratitude for inviting the Japanese children from the areas affected by the Fukushima-1 accident to visit Belarus for health improvement. G.Sata also noted that Belarus and Japan have a great potential in the development of production, technological and investment cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, V.Rybakov and G.Sata noted that joint efforts will promote the implementation of various economic projects and stimulate the bilateral relations between Japan and Belarus.
