Permanent Representative of Belarus Y.Ambrazevich meets with the WTO Deputy Director-General

On October 5, 2017 in Geneva the Permanent Representative of Belarus to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva Yury Ambrazevich met with the Deputy Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Alan Wolff.

Y.Ambrazevich congratulated Alan Wolff on his appointment to this position and expressed the hope for the constructive cooperation with a view to the soonest accession of the Republic of Belarus to the WTO. In his turn, A.Wolff stated that the WTO leadership highly appreciates the efforts of the Government of Belarus related to the WTO accession and is ready to provide the necessary support for the completion of negotiations in the very nearest future.

During the meeting, the substantive exchange of views took place on the economic situation in Belarus, on the outcomes of the 9th meeting of the WTO Working Party on accession of Belarus (13 September 2017, Geneva), as well as on the next mutual steps to advance the negotiation process.

It was agreed to continue the regular interaction, including during the preparations for the 11th WTO Ministerial Conference to be held on 10-13 December 2017 in Buenos-Aires (Argentina).
