On International UNICEF High Level Conference in Minsk

On November
12-13, 2014 on the initiative of Belarus, Minsk hosts international UNICEF high level Conference for the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and the CIS “Strengthening national mechanisms to protect children from neglect, abuse, violence and exploitation”.

The Conference was opened by Belarus Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the National Commission for Children's Rights Mr.Anatoly Tozik and UNICEF Regional Director for Central and Eastern Europe and the CIS Marie-Pierre Poirier.

The parties will exchange opinions, experience and best practice in the sphere of creation of the effective systems of childhood protection, strengthening interdepartmental cooperation in this sphere. The sides will also discuss the activity of national agencies on child protection, as well as current problems of the countries of the region in this sphere.

The delegations from 19 countries, including Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Moldova, Macedonia, Serbia and Russia participate in the event.
