Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus A.Dapkiunas meets the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia

On September 20, 2018 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Andrei Dapkiunas, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Saudi Arabia to the Russian Federation, Riyadh Khalid Krimly. 

The Deputy Minister received the copies of the Credentials of the Ambassador and wished him successful work as a plenipotentiary representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Belarus.

During the meeting, the sides discussed a number of issues regarding bilateral cooperation and defined perspective ways of promotion of Belarusian-Saudi interaction.

Belarusian and Saudi diplomats shared their views on possible schedule of bilateral interstate contacts at the high level, primarily between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries. The Deputy Minister and the Ambassador discussed the issue of holding the next session of the Joint Belarusian-Saudi Committee for Cooperation in Ryadh and noted the importance of exchange of visits of delegations of business circles of both countries.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that the economies of the two states are complementary and asked the Saudi party to pay more attention to the prospects of supplying competitive Belarusian products of mechanical engineering, food, chemical, pharmaceutical and woodworking industries to the Saudi market.

The parties also touched upon issues of more rapid approval of a number of pending bilateral draft agreements.
