Alexander Lukashenko Receives the Leader of the Parliamentary Group of the Communist Party of Russia Gennady Zyuganov (press release by press service of the President)

On December 13, President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko received in his working residence the leader of the Communist Party group at the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of Russia Gennady Zyuganov who arrived in Minsk to take part in parliamentary hearings.

The Head of the State emphasized that he always meets with Gennady Zyuganov as with a true and firm supporter of unity of the Belarusian and Russian people. Addressing Gennady Zyuganov the President noted that “those people who stay by your side are indeed the mainstay of unity of our peoples, and not only the peoples of Belarus and Russia.”

Gennady Zyuganov assured that the parliamentary group headed by him favours an equal union between Belarus and Russia; it makes every effort for the union to become a reality and for the agreements to be implemented. “It will be difficult for us to manage the crisis without the union agreements concluded on an equal basis. I believe the majority of politicians realize and support it, said the leader of the group of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation at the State Duma.

During the meeting, Gennady Zyuganov specially referred to the opinion expressed by the European politicians that only the strengthening of unions between states can contribute to peace and harmony in our planet.
