Ambassador of Belarus P.Latushko pays a working visit to Spain

On September 13, 2017 in Madrid, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the French Republic and the Kingdom of Spain (concurrently) Pavel Latushko met with the State Secretary for European Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Spain Jorge Toledo.

The sides discussed the implementation of the agreements reached during the visit of Foreign Minister of Belarus Vladimir Makei to Spain. The main attention was paid to the preparations for the first meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Belarusian-Spanish Commission on Economic and Industrial Cooperation, which is planned in Minsk on October 18, 2017.

There parties also discussed the prospects for expanding the legal framework for bilateral cooperation, concluding agreements on cooperation in the fields of justice, tourism, transport, science and technology. Particular attention during the conversation was given to the issues of cooperation between the two countries in the field of agriculture. A preliminary agreement was reached to hold consultations between Belarus and Spain on consular matters.

On the same day, P.Latushko met with Director General for European Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain Juan Lopez Herrera and Deputy Director General for European Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain Jorge Urbiola.

During the meeting with the State Secretary for Tourism of Spain Matilda, Pastor Asian Gonzalez, were discussed the themes of cooperation between Belarus and Spain in the area of tourism, including the mutual participation of representatives of the tourism sector in international exhibitions.

During the stay of P.Latushko in Madrid, meetings were also held with representatives of business circles of Spain interested in developing trade and economic cooperation with Belarus.

On September 14, 2017, P.Latushko met with the mayor of the city of Malaga, Francisco de la Torre. During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of interregional cooperation.
