Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Aleksandr Guryanov visited Lithuania

On March 5-6, 2015 Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Guryanov paid a working visit to the Republic of Lithuania.

On 5 March Aleksandr Guryanov met with the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Rolandas Krisciunas. The sides discussed current issues of trade, economic and investment cooperation between Belarus and Lithuania, expressed satisfaction with the level of interaction reached. Special attention was paid to the development of partnership in the field of transport and transit.

On 6 March Aleksandr Guryanov visited Klaipeda and met with the management of Klaipeda State Seaport, Association of stevedoring companies, as well as visited a number of Lithuanian terminals, which are used for the transshipment of cargo from our country. The Belarusian side emphasized interest in further development of cooperation with the Lithuanian Seaport.

Later on the same day Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus took part in the ceremony of assumption of office by the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus in Klaipeda Nikolai Logvin. The event was attended by the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Mantvydas Bekesius and local authorities.

Aleksandr Guryanov expressed confidence that the appointment of the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus will contribute to the expansion of regional cooperation between Belarus and Lithuania in all spheres, including trade, economic, scientific and humanitarian contacts.
