Official opening of a new building of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Hungary

On April 24, 2015 the ceremony of the official opening of a new building of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Hungary took place.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Alena Kupchyna, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Péter Szijjártó, ambassadors of OSCE countries accredited in Budapest, as well as representatives of the Hungarian mass-media participated in the ceremony.

In the speech during the event Alena Kupchyna emphasized that it is very important for Belarus to maintain sincere and open relations with Hungary, which is a real friend of Belarus.

Péter Szijjártó underlined the importance of Belarus' diplomatic efforts in resolving crisis situation in the region, the necessity of individual approach to cooperation with countries within Eastern Partnership initiative, a high level of bilateral interaction between Belarus and Hungary, readiness of both countries to maintain equal and mutually beneficial dialogue for the benefit of our countries and peoples.

During the ceremony Alena Kupchyna held a bilateral meeting with Péter Szijjártó. The sides discussed state and prospects of bilateral relations, trade, economic and investment cooperation, interaction within international organizations, preparation of the visit of Péter Szijjártó to Minsk to be held on April 29, 2015.

Special attention was paid to the preparation of the Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga and interaction with Hungary in the framework of the Belarus — EU dialogue.

During the visit to Budapest Alena Kupchyna will also meet with State Secretary of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Co-Chairman of the Intergovernmental Belarusian-Hungarian Commission on Economic Cooperation László Szabó.
