Permanent Representative of Belarus to the United Nations V.Rybakov meets the Deputy Secretary General of the UN

On March 5, 2018, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Belarus to the United Nations, Valentin Rybakov, met with the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, Amina J. Mohammed.

A.Mohammed expressed gratitude on the results of her visit to Minsk in February 2018 for participation in the Regional Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Coordination Leaders Forum.

The Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations highly appreciated the initiative of Belarus to establish a partnership network of national SDG coordinators, assuring the support of the UN Secretariat for this new format of partnership.

A.Mohammed  also stressed the need to disseminate the experience of the creation and activities of the Republican Rehabilitation Center for Disabled Children in Minsk, which she visited during her stay in our country.

V.Rybakov expressed gratitude to A.Mohammed for her participation in the Forum in Minsk and assured of Belarus’ intention to continue cooperation with countries of the region for their involvement in the implementation of the Belarusian initiative.

The parties outlined further joint steps for dissemination of the results of the Forum and practical assistance of the UN Secretariat in establishing the partnership network of national SDG coordinators.
