Ambassador of Belarus S.Aleinik meets representatives of Chernobyl organizations

On May 3, 2017 the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in London hosted a meeting of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Sergei Aleinik, with representatives of the non-governmental organizations of Great Britain and Ireland engaged in providing humanitarian assistance to the population of Belarus in the areas affected by the accident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.

The meeting coincides with the International Day of Remembrance of the Chernobyl Catastrophe, that was celebrated this year for the first time.

The participants of the meeting discussed current issues in the field of humanitarian contacts between our countries and prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation in the above sphere. Representatives of British and Irish organizations confirmed their willingness to continue work on the improvement of  health of Belarusian children and implementation of social and humanitarian projects in our country.

In his statement, S.Aleinik emphasized the important contribution of humanitarian organizations to strengthening friendship between the nations of our countries and developing human contacts, as well as to the ensuring sustainable development in the affected territories of Belarus.
