Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Alena Kupchyna participates in the Informal Ministerial dialogues of the Eastern Partnership countries in Tbilisi

On 26 November 2015, Ms. Alena Kupchyna, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, took part in a meeting of foreign ministers of the Eastern Partnership participating countries in Tbilisi within the sixth round of the EaP Informal Ministerial Dialogues.



The meeting focused on the EaP implementation and prospects of its further development after the Riga Summit, also in the context of the European Neighborhood Policy review.

While speaking at the plenary, the head of the Belarusian delegation stated the principle approaches of the Republic of Belarus to cooperation under the Eastern Partnership. She stressed the necessity of greater differentiation, increasing effectiveness of the initiative through implementation of concrete regional projects, as well as the need to embark on a dialogue and cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Union and the European Union with the goal of creation in the future of a single economic area between Lisbon and Vladivostok.

Alena Kupchyna had a number of working contacts with heads of delegations of the partner countries, the Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn, and Deputy Secretary General of the European External Action Service Helga Schmid. The parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, in particular, the development of relations between the Republic of Belarus and the European Union.
