Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus V.Rybakov meets the representatives of the International Educational Center of Dortmund

On February 7, 2017 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Valentin Rybakov, held a meeting with the representatives of the International Educational Center of Dortmund (IBB Dortmund).

Background information: The IBB Dortmund was founded in 1986 by German activists for peace. Nowadays the IBB Dortmund is in contact with 16 European countries and works in Dortmund, Minsk, Kharkov and Berlin. The IBB Dortmund is co-founder of the International Educational Center “Johannes Rau” of Minsk and the History Workshop of Leonid Lewin. The IBB Dortmund financed more than 175 German-Belarusian joint projects within the German support programme.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the issue of the opening of the exposition “The Death Camp Trostenets. History and Memory”. The exposition was organized by a joined team of historians from Belarus and Germany, including members of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Museum of the Great Patriotic War History, the Museum “Berlin-Karlhorst”, the Foundation “Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe”.

Since November, 2016 until January, 2017 it was successfully shown in Germany.

After the display in the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War History in March, 2017, the exposition is supposed to be demonstrated in all the regional centers of the Republic of Belarus.
