Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus A.Dapkiunas visits Shanghai

On November 6, 2018 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Andrei Dapkiunas, visits Shanghai (China) to attend the first China International Import Exhibition as a member of the official delegation of the Republic of Belarus. During the visit, A.Dapkiunas took part in the opening ceremony of the National Exhibition hall of the Republic of Belarus.

The representatives of the government agencies and business entities of the Republic of Belarus attended the China International Import Exhibition in Shanghai. Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus effectively helped Belarusian manufacturers to prepare for the exhibition.

In preparation for the year of education of Belarus and China, A.Dapkiunas visited the East China Pedagogical University, one of the oldest universities in Shanghai, where China’s first center for studying Belarus has been operating since 2012. During the conversation with the leadership of the University and the Institute of International Relations, the Deputy Minister noted the important role of academic centers for Belarusian studies in bringing the Belarusian and Chinese people closer together and strengthening the interstate foundation of mutual support and understanding.

The Deputy Minister took part in the Hongqiao International Economic and Trade Forum the day before the opening of the exhibition, where problems of the development of international trade in the context of economic globalization, innovation and investment were discussed.

On November 6, A.Dapkiunas, as the head of the delegation of Belarusian representatives, also visited high-tech park “Zhangjiang” (Pudong district)

A.Dapkiunas discussed with the management of the high-tech park “Zhangjiang” and a number of resident companies of the Shanghai Free Economic Zone, working in the field of robotics and the production of electric vehicles, the possibility for the high-tech Chinese companies to become residents of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park “Great Stone".
