Ambassador of Belarus Andrei Savinykh visits Iraq

On June 30 - July 3, 2015 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus  to Turkey and Iraq (non-resident) Andrei Savinykh is paying a working visit to Baghdad.

On 1 July Ambassador of Belarus held meetings with Minister of Health of the Republic of Iraq Adila Hammoud Hussein and in the Foreign Ministry of Iraq.

During the meeting with Adila Hammoud Hussein the parties discussed possibilities of expanding cooperation in the field of health care, including supplies of Belarusian medicines to Iraq. Andrei Savinykh informed about health services that may be provided to Iraqi citizens in Belarus, as well as the possibility of sending teams of Belarusian doctors to work in the local medical institutions.

Iraqi Minister was invited to pay an official visit to Belarus.

At the meeting with Head of the European Department of the Iraqi MFA Safia Al Souhail a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation was discussed. Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the agreements reached as a result of the high-level interministerial contacts.

The sides also discussed possible dates and agenda of the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Belarusian-Iraqi Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
