Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus A.Dapkiunas meets the Ambassador of India

On September 2, 2019 the Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Andrei Dapkiunas met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to the Republic of Belarus Sangeeta Bahadur.

 

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on current issues of the bilateral and international agenda, discussed the topics of strengthening global and regional security, nuclear non-proliferation, combatting terrorism. 

A.Dapkiunas drew attention of the Ambassador of India to the timely and relevant initiative of the President of the Republic of Belarus to initiate a broad multi-stakeholder dialogue to restore an effective system of international security and cooperation in the Eurasian-Atlantic region. In this context, Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus noted the relevance of extending the scope of consideration of issues of international security as covering the entire Eurasian-Atlantic space. 

Deputy Minister welcomed and stressed the importance of participation of a representative Indian delegation at the High-Level International Conference “Combating terrorism through innovative approaches and the use of new and emerging technologies” to be held in Minsk on 3 — 4 September. 

During the meeting there was also a discussion over suitable timing and substance of a number of bilateral high-level and summit visits planned for 2019-2020, preparation of the next round of political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Belarus and India, remarkable bilateral activities in the field of trade and investment.
