Permanent Representative of Belarus in Geneva Y.Ambrazevich meets the Director General of WIPO

On October 10, 2017 the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Belarus to the United Nations Office in Geneva, Yury Ambrazevich, met with the Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Francis Gurry.

The meeting was also attended by the Director General of the National Center for Intellectual Property of Belarus, Piotr Brovkin.

Y.Ambrazevich presented efforts made by the Government of Belarus to improve the national intellectual property system and expressed gratitude to the WIPO for the provided technical assistance. Belarusian diplomat expressed interest in increasing the representation of experts from Belarus in the Secretariat of the Organization.

The parties also discussed the facilitation in 2018 of the official visit to Belarus of the WIPO Director General, as well as the initiative of the Permanent Mission of Belarus in Geneva to co-organize in 2018 the exhibition of national ornaments of the Member States of the Organization on the margins of one of the WIPO committees.
