Group of Friends of the Family holds a thematic event at the UN

On March 17, 2017 on the margins of the 61st session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women that taking place in the UN Headquarters in New York, upon the initiative of Belarus, the Group Friends of the Family, together with partners from international and U.S. non-governmental organisations that support the natural family, held a thematic event “The Family, Child Well-being, and the Protection and Empowerment of Girls”.

Background Information: The Group of Friends of the Family established in 2015. It is composed of 25 countries from all regions of the world. Group of Friends of the Family promotes the interests of the natural family and traditional family values in accordance with the concept of the family, as reflected in the internationally recognised documents.

Renowned American analysts who deal with the issues of family policy in the world spoke at the event.

The delegation of Belarus noted the key role of the family in protection of children and spoke in support of a stable family that guarantees the quality education of children. Belarusian delegation also stated the need to promote traditional family values among young people.
