Belarus Foreign Minister at the Munich Security Conference 2010
On 5–7 February, Sergei Martynov, Belarus Foreign Minister, was in Munich to attend the 46 Munich Security Conference.
He held thorough discussions with German Vice-chancellor and Minister of Foreign Affairs Guido Westerwelle, Foreign Ministers of Switzerland and Ukraine – Micheline Calmy-Rey and Petro Poroshenko, Advisor to the German Chancellor on foreign affairs and security Christoph Heusgen.
These discussions focused on further intensification of the bilateral dialogue and on co-operation between Belarus and the EU.
Sergei Martynov also had brief meetings with OSCE Secretary General Marc Perrin de Brichambaut, Foreign Ministers of Italy, Iran and Slovenia, representatives of the Council of the European Union and US National Security Council, as well as with former EU High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy Xavier Solana and former US senator Sam Nunn – a co-author of the Nunn-Lugar Programme.
