Born in 1958 in Grodno Region, Belarus.

Graduated from the Minsk State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages (1980), Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Austria (1993).


1980–1993 – Service in the Armed Forces of the USSR / Republic of Belarus. Retired colonel.
1993–1995 – Third Secretary of the Information and Humanitarian Cooperation Department, Second Secretary of the Analysis and Forecast Division, Second Secretary of the Office of the Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.
1995–1996 – Deputy Head of the State Protocol Service, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
1996–1999 – Representative of the Republic of Belarus at the Council of Europe – Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the French Republic.

2008–2012 – Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus.
Since 20 August 2012 – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.

First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus

Born in 1953 in Minsk.

Graduated from the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute (1977) and the All-Union Academy of Foreign Trade (1986).

Mr Aleksandr GURYANOV
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus

Born on 8 December 1972 in the town of Lomonosov, Leningrad oblast of Russia.

Graduated from the Belarusian State Economic University (International Economic Relations & Foreign Trade) in 1994. In 1993 – 1995 passed training programs of UNDP and Economic Institute of the World Bank, studied at the Joint Vienna Institute. Participated in educational and research projects of the World Bank as consultant-trainer during 1995 – 1997.


1993 – 1997 — Expert, Chief Specialist, Head Division, Deputy Director of Credit & Investment Department of the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations of Belarus.
1997 – 1999 — Commercial Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Poland.
1999 – 2002 — Deputy Head of mission, Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the United Arab Emirates (political and commercial affairs for GCC countries).
2002 – 2005 — Director of Asia, Africa and Middle East Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.
2006 – October 2010 — Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Korea.
